In 2011, I was contracted by a company working with the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute "The Clark" to assist with a video project to be included with an up-coming exhibit.

The exhibit would run June 12 to October 16, 2011, and  feature sculptures by Nigerian sculptor El Anatsui using bottle caps from Nigerian liquor.

With only a few weeks until the grand opening, we would need to be diligent in our creation of the video project, so that it could be included for the premiere.

The project would be a documentary featuring  El Anatsui being interviewed by a former student of his, and behind-the-scenes footage of the exhibit creation.

The video would play on large screens situated just outside the exhibit, and would be on a loop for the enjoyment and education of anyone who visited.

These large-scale sculptures are called gawu, which means "metal" or "fashioned cloth" in Anatsui's first language. They're designed to be hung in a fluid manner, and represent the link between Africa, Europe, and North America through commerce.
