In 2013, I was tasked with redesigning the stage for Redeemer Church working along side with the pastor, and their in-house set artist. The stage had been set up several years prior, and was beginning to look a bit dated. The lighting was minimal, and the panels had begun to warp.

After much back and forth, I designed a quick mock-up to give the pastor an idea of what the set could look like with a painted rough board look. I suggested updated lighting, and side screens for projecting images made from the same material, for a modern rustic look.

After a few long nights, we were able to take the vision from rough mock-up to final product. We ultimately decided to add more boards behind the screens, and to avoid gaps from the original mock-up, in order to make them more versatile.

This new set not only gave a fresh look to the stage, but added versatility with the updated LED lighting, and new side projector screens.

In Christmas 2014, I was tasked with updating the set for their Christmas service. I suggested a theatrical cloth draped, surround by some Christmas decorations. I also added a new mask for the side screens that gave the appearance of a frosted window, and added a video of slowly falling snow behind their graphics. Sometimes all it takes to update a design is a simple solution.
